Deuteronomy 11:18-19

18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Deuteronomy 11:18-19

And it's a.... (Gender reveal post ;) )

Boy! Our 6th boy and OH MAN did we have a time naming him! After much deliberation we decided to add another J name to the family. Little Mr. Jacob is measuring just about what he should on ultrasound (even though he looks like he's got some serious mucles already,) leaning his hand on his chin (I think we may have been boring him) and playing with his toes between bouncing off momma's bladder,  kicking the ultrasound wand, and laying stretched flat out on the ultrasound.

At 22 weeks we are already buying yarn for his baby blanket, sorting out where he'll sit in the new van (post coming soon) and wondering if he's going to be a big boy or not. I think we are all a little excited to meet him! August will come much faster then expected, I know, what with the end of school, chicks, piglets, working on the house and all those sunny days I'm hoping for.

Tobiah is Here!

Tobiah is here! All 9lbs 9ozs of him! Here he is R ight after birth!

About an hour old, bonding with momma.

A couple hours old, stole momma's bed and snoozing with Papa.

Laying in the mid afternoon sunshine.

Snoozing on mom after lunch.

Quick stats. He was born after 5 hours of labour, at 12:39am on March 5th/15. He was 21.25 inches long and 9lbs, 9 ozs. Our biggest baby yet by 3 ozs. He has a full head of hair, something new :) and big chubby cheeks. He is so far a very easy laid back baby who rarely cries and sleeps a lot. He's nursing like a champ :)

Pregnancy Update 21 Weeks

It's hard to believe but I keep finding reasons to be surprised at how very fast time flies. You'd think I'd be more used to it by now :)

Baby #8, we'll find out the baby's sex at the next ultrasound on the 27th, is already 21 weeks! If you follow my Facebook page (The Griggs Family Homestead) you may have seen last week that I posted that Baby #8 was half baked :) I'll make sure and post when we find out if he's a he or she's a she. Papa and I actually agree this time that he's a he and in the way life works: we have a girls name but not a boys name. But who knows we could both be wrong! :) It's been known to happen.

Baby is active and I'm feeling movement almost every day. Mostly in the evening and early morning. Most of my morning sickness is gone as well with just the tiredness here to stay apparently. And yes, I'm resting often and pacing myself. We have been crazy busy but I take several more rest/water breaks then normal and make sure I get at least a rest, if not a nap, almost every afternoon. G&G Griggs were just up for a visit, more about that in a later post, and I got a nap/rest every day that they were here! Super nice! Thanks Mom!
