Deuteronomy 11:18-19

18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Give Me That Bacon!

Papa gave S a little hunk of homemade bacon this morning. S made some pretty neat faces at first and than I grabbed the iPad to take these pictures. We laughed so hard our bellies hurt!

This is supposed to be good?

Hmm... Where did it go?

I do not see what is so good about this stuff!

Maybe you smoke it? Lol.

Actually he liked to suck on it. He has no teeth and the piece was big enough he couldn't get the whole thing in his mouth so it wasn't a choking hazard. I was impressed at how he picked it up after he dropped it and switched it from hand to hand. Baby is growing up!

Double Digits. A Boy Birthday :)

10 years ago we welcomed our firstborn. He gave us hope in so many ways. He is SUCH a blessing in our lives. We thank God for him!

He chose pork chops and pasta for his meal and we celebrated with G&G F.

Apple Pie.

Opening gifts. Kinda deceiving really as you can't see what he got, but that was the point so he couldn't guess what was in the boxes.

He was pretty excited about his very own Ipod though!! :)

Happy Birthday J!
We love you :)

A Couple of Cute Pictures to Brighten Your Day.

Playing memory with Grandma

E with a hair beard.

G sticking out her tongue.

J3 playing Robozo.

S smiles.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Cousin Love, Boy Style :)

Cousin Wrestles. These two are great friends :)

Just minutes before these pictures Uncle D and Papa had everyone squealing, yelling, laughing, and generally having a great time wrestling on the floor. They all LOVE it :)

I wish I had pictures of every time L and O have stood back to back. O is 16 months younger than L, and 2 months older than E, and sometimes he's taller then L and sometimes he's shorter and we measure them every time they get together. This time L was just a tiny bit taller. These two are also known to wrestle for HOURS on the trampoline :) If they wear the same color shirts they are really hard to tell apart unless you look at their faces!

First Door In The House!

This will one day be a kids bedroom door! The picture is taken thru the window sorry!

Grace's Quilt!

About time I got to finishing it! My work tonight! Started with just the top panel done..

Layed out on the floor, all three layers, and pinned!

Machine quilted around the ouside and around each of the 12 little squares! Next step is figuring out the binding and then it'll be done! Yay!

Supper tonight. Soup and Biscuits and Cheesecake.

An old favorite soup of mine. Got the recipe recently from my mom and made it tonight for the first time in years. Mennonite sausage, potatoes, beet leaves, dill, salt and then thickened with an eggs, some cream and flour! Biscuits made with fresh buttermilk and butter :) YUM!!

My wonderful friend R likes to bring me gifts when I watch her boys :) I teased she was trying to fatten me up :) I DON'T need fattening so I share with the kids! This is white chocolate mudslide cheesecake *drool*! Very very good!

Forgetful Friday. January 3rd.

Forgot to do my forgetful Fridays for a few fast and frantic months. Yes months. Life is busy and short. S is 6 months old. Papa and I were talking about our year, you know the last one: 2013, and we have been busy busy busy busy this year. We really don't think it's going to get better this year, maybe worse. (There is your notice, please remember that when I don't blog every week or even for a month. I am trying to keep it up, but there is only so much I can do :) )

Some things I've recently realized or forgotten until recently :

Potty training is difficult and annoying. :)

6 month old babies are SO MUCH FUN! They love to laugh, smile and can brighten the very worst days.

Skating is fun, even if it hurts your feet :) Thanks Rachel :)

Sometimes people will surprise you at their selfless goodness.

Sometimes people will surprise you with their selfishness and inconsiderate ways.

Bodies heal much faster then spirits.

Babies arms may only be 10 inches long but they can reach 15 inches if they really want something, like your plate. You may think that's impossible but I can tell you it's not.

Chocolate milk is awesome :)

Have a wonderful Friday all!

Gingerbread Houses and Men 2013

We followed our Christmas Eve tradition again this year and decorated gingerbread houses. We invited G&G F to join us and had a guy house and a girl house. The girl house is on the left and the guys on the right.

J3 and G did these while I supervised. They had a great time at their own little table with their own candy selection. And surprisingly some even made it on to the gingerbread men :)
