Deuteronomy 11:18-19

18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Thankful Thursday.

1. My kids. They are amazing.

2. Green grass.
3. My dishwasher...working thru it's second load of the day with another load waiting.
4. Energy. It probably seems to you who read this blog that I have a lot of energy, but I don't always and I'm thankful for the days I do.
5.  Work. Truly I'm thankful for work. Sometimes it's all the busy work that keeps ones head on straight.
6.

Grace.

7.

Naps. J3 and G are both still napping every afternoon and sometimes S naps at the same time as them and when that happens it is amazing! I've been admonished by a grown up to also rest for a bit every afternoon and so I do and I'm really enjoying it :) with my cup of coffee and square of chocolate :)

Thursday Afternoon Ramble

had to think pretty hard to figure out what day it was just now which should tell you what kind of week we are having....BUSY BUSY.

But right now it's quiet in here, kids are having a picnic on the trampoline, Papa had to run to town and S is asleep, so I'm taking 5 minutes to myself with a cuppa joe, and letting the vit E soak into my hands. I have one non sticky finger to finger type with.

L and E just finished Grade 3!!!! Yay! J has chosen to finish tomorrow. He has to record a puppet show yet :)

Our trench for the electrical and water line will be dug this afternoon and we are also getting a load of sand today.

This morning we cleaned house as 4 days is too long to leave it and Tuesday I was on the couch with a fever, mastitis I'm pretty sure, and the housework did not get done.

Yesterday we spent in the city almost doubling our money spent on house this spring. OUCH! But it was a good thing all around. We got a lot of stuff! Lots of it goes into this trench project...I can honestly say I was still recovering from the day before and I really am unsure what it was he all got. Hot water set up and bathroom fans system I do know. Electrical pole stuff and cable. We, just Papa, S and I are going back tomorrow to pick countertops/ sinks etc for kitchen and bathrooms. The kids are staying home with Mrs. M. and will have a blast I'm sure!

Monday Papa worked and I painted some more floors and stained some walls.

There now your caught up on the week. Tonight I have Bible study and Papa may take the kids to go get a load of bales or he might still be doing trench things. Last night when we talked about it the trench was still being dug in the morning, now it's been pushed to afternoon so who knows.

I will say it takes a long time to type with one finger!! Lol.

So I'm thankful for: Feeling better :) Money spent :) Trench day :) School almost 100% done :) S's new tooth :) Mrs. M and her persistence :) A clean house :) Busy days :) Bible study :)

And my odd one of the day is candles... Why is that odd you ask?

Last winter our orange male cat got caught in the engine compartment of the truck, got hurt badly and raced under the house before we could do anything about it. Hasn't been seen since. Unfortunately we can now smell him. Gag. It's really nasty in the kids room. It took us a few days to figure it out. Papa went looking but can't find it! He says it must be up inside the floor! Gag. Days aren't as bad as nights and I lit a yummy vanilla candle in the morning to rid the house of the smell. Gag. Nasty hey!? I can't wait to get out of this trailer!!

Anyway my finger is screaming enough already at me!

Hope the day goes well for you.
Hope the sun shines on your head.
Hope your world smells better, much better!, then mine ;)

1000th Post.

Should be about family.

And other things we enjoy in life...

And about the ultimate love.

And not forgetting to count our blessings.

And a little bit of humor :)

And, last but not least, some words to live by.

Lights!

Kitchen area :)

Master bedroom. All the lights in the house are wired up and in. They all look pretty much the same so I thought I'd just show you a few :)

Doors and Drawers

Well here is the almost finished project! After 3 sandings, 2 stainings and 3 layers of clear coat, just on the drawers, I'm feeling very finished with this project :)

Actually that's not all I have to do yet. I want to paint the inside of the drawers yet and I may put a layer of clear protective coating on the doors too. But they LOOK finished ;)

Here is a bit better picture of the doors.

Calves to the Lease.

Going from our place to the lease. Papa is in the lease, calves still on our place.

Farming has a way of calling to us and lately we've been doing a bit of it. Ivan, the smallest calf in the top picture, needed to be separated from Isabel so Papa cleaned up some bush, built some fence, lured the calves in, easy as they love that cow candy!, and we checked on the calves and they looked happy and in the right spot. The next morning Ivan was not in the pen, he was beside his momma's pen and soon inside her pen. So much for that!

The road in the lease. Papa had to clear a chunk of the neighbours fence so he could make it stronger. It's just before this picture.

So Papa rebuilt some fence, gave the calves an alley way close to the cows but ultra built with HOT fence and put Ivan BACK in with Milton and Patch and we waited.

The far corner of the lease, where the grass really grows :) The calves finally get the cow candy!

The second fence held! Yay! For the next few days Papa, and sometimes I, went to 'walk the calves to the lease.' A fun short walk. Papa in front with a bucket of cow candy, followed closely by Milton, Patch and Ivan, with me following along behind. Happy steers!

Pantry Doors

No stain.

First coat.

Second coat and finished! Yay!

Critter Friendship.

Daisy and Chip snoozing on the driveway.

First Paint. Bathroom Floors.

This is after the 1st coat on the bathroom floors. I really put a LOT of paint on the floor and it's a deck paint so it's taking awhile to dry. Hopefully today I will be able to do the second coat. I'm also going to stain the walls before Papa puts them up and then the bathroom work will really start :) The color is a bit darker in real life.
