We had a great visit to our favourite greenhouse for flowers this morning. Papa was with us so we may have to sneak back another time :) The basket L is holding is my Mother's Day present and the rest is for the front sign, but we will keep them inside until we are sure they won't frost out. I love Spring.
The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing. But in our culture we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture.

Deuteronomy 11:18-19
18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Chick Pictures
All my kids love to see baby animals and pet them and hold them.
J holding a Rustic chick. Check out the coloring on some of these birds.
L with a Rustic as well.
E with a Cornish, I love T's face in this pic!
R with a Cornish.
J3 with a Rustic.
G with a Rustic.
S with a Rustic. He was terrified of it at first because it flapped its wings when L put it on his lap. So the smile took awhile.

And it's a.... (Gender reveal post ;) )
Boy! Our 6th boy and OH MAN did we have a time naming him! After much deliberation we decided to add another J name to the family. Little Mr. Jacob is measuring just about what he should on ultrasound (even though he looks like he's got some serious mucles already,) leaning his hand on his chin (I think we may have been boring him) and playing with his toes between bouncing off momma's bladder, kicking the ultrasound wand, and laying stretched flat out on the ultrasound.
At 22 weeks we are already buying yarn for his baby blanket, sorting out where he'll sit in the new van (post coming soon) and wondering if he's going to be a big boy or not. I think we are all a little excited to meet him! August will come much faster then expected, I know, what with the end of school, chicks, piglets, working on the house and all those sunny days I'm hoping for.

S's Big Boy Bed.
S is sleeping in his big boy bed! He loves it. He napped in it for about 10 days before he spend his first night in it. The next day we took his play pen down for good. It sure makes him look really tiny, and their room look super big!
Normally we potty train just after their second birthday but we've decided, and learned from J3 who was our other summer baby, that we will not start S until Papa goes back to work full time or even until this fall when life should get a bit more scheduled.

L's Birthday
L wanted chocolate covered cookie balls for his birthday cake! Super rich and yummy.
Funny card Papa made him.
Opening the iPod.
L is our happy, drawing, dragon loving, deep thinking boy. He enjoys games, biking, making stuff, reading, playing with S or G. He spends hours with his nose in a book, or making paper dragons. He got an iPod for his birthday and he enjoys searching up animals, texting people, and taking gobs and gobs of pictures :)

Tobiah's Newborn Pictures And Name Reveal.
My friend Jen came over a while ago now and she took these great pictures of T for us!
We had SO much fun with them!!
Hugging Papa's Bible.
A little scholar.
Love the Glasses :)
This one Jen named 'Grumpy Hunter' and we love it and call him that whenever he makes that face.
Napping on a cloud.
Gonna be just 'like Papa!'
My favorite one! He's wearing J's old glasses and leaning on Papa's Greek books and his new Bible.
AND NOW FOR THE NAME REVEAL!!
As some of you know we name each of our children after people we love, respect, and have impacted our lives in some amazing way. Each child gets two middle names.
For example. J's middle names are Morgan Dixon. Morgan is Papa's middle name and Dixon was Papa's maternal grandfathers name who died the same year J was born.
Normally we reveal the first name after the ultrasound and the two second names after the birth. This time we announced the names but never announced who he was named after. I kept meaning to do it but I never got there, hence this post :)
Tobiah James Joel
James. This one is multi persons.
My grandma had 8 kids. The 8th goes by the name of Jim (and there has been some confusion over whether his name is really James or if it's Jim. I imagine I'll find out soon after I post this). I heard recently that he was my grandma's biggest baby at around 10 or 11 lbs so I think it's very fitting that my 8th child, who is also my biggest child at roughly 10lbs at birth, is named after my Grandparents 8th child who was her biggest baby :)
Papa's Aunt M married a fantastic guy, before I knew Papa, by the name of James :) Jim, as he's mostly called, has been a great encouragement to both of us over the years and we love you both!
Then there is this fellow who once changed our lives in ways we still are amazed at. It was one of those GOD things and amazing!! Just a simple dinner conversation which lead to a life change that literally changed our lives. Thanks again David James :) (Note: I had quite a time sneaking around trying to find out your middle name :) )
Joel
Before Papa and I got married we spent a year apart. I remember it well, it was terrible but it was strengthening for our relationship. Papa remembers it well too.. he mostly remembers working his tail off for a certain Joel Salatin and learning the methods of farming that we still follow today and that have changed the way we look at food and agriculture. So Joel this ones for you!!
